Can Van Dijk stop Magpies springing surprise at Anfield?

Craig Burley reveals who he thinks is the Premier League's best goalkeeper between Alisson and Ederson.

Another winner for the banker bet in midweek after we correctly called that Kosovo would stay within three goals of England, but Chile's shock loss to Honduras scuppered our 5/1 treble. Back to the Premier League this weekend, with Liverpool against Newcastle United among the highlights.

Running total: +£27.50

The Banker

Liverpool's recent win over Burnley was a club record 13th Premier League victory in a row and it would take a brave punter to bet against them extending that sequence against Newcastle. The Reds are averaging three goals a game in the Premier League so far this season and are 1/7 on to beat the Magpies at Anfield.

The one glimmer of hope for Newcastle is the fact that Liverpool have conceded in five of their six games so far this season. In Virgil van Dijk they may boast UEFA's Player of the Year and the leading candidate in the race for the Ballon d'Or, but opponents have continued to find joy behind Liverpool's high defensive line so far this term. Newcastle have scored in each of their last three league games, so 7/4 about Liverpool winning this and both teams finding the net looks a tempting play.

Selection: £4 on Liverpool to win and both teams to score at 7/4 with bet365.

The First Goal Flutter

Harry Kane looks the obvious choice at 13/5 to notch first when Tottenham host Crystal Palace on Saturday. The England captain has scored seven goals in six games for club and country so far this season and can blast Spurs to a much needed three points in north London. Tottenham are seven points adrift of Liverpool at the top of the table and need to start getting some wins on the board to have a realistic shout at another top-four finish.

Selection: £5 on Kane to score first at 14:5 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Manchester United host Leicester City in what should be a fascinating encounter this weekend and we feel both teams to score looks the bet in that one at 3/4 with bet365. The Foxes have earned eight points from four matches so far and have seen their odds to finish in the top six slashed as a result.

Elsewhere Bournemouth are struggling with a massive injury list so Everton look worth a punt at 5/4 on Sunday. The Cherries are yet to keep a clean sheet this season while Everton looked sharp going forward in that 3-2 win against Wolves.

Finally, add in Arsenal at evens to beat Watford at Vicarage Road. The Hornets are rooted to the foot of the table but time will tell whether they have made the right call in sacking Javi Gracia so early in the season. The Gunners have won their last three against Watford and have solid claims here.

Selection: £4 on the treble at 6.87/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

Napoli's first two Serie A games have featured an astonishing 14 goals and they look good things to beat Sampdoria at home on Saturday. The Partenopei, led by diminutive striker Lorenzo Insigne, might concede but ultimately should be too hot for a winless Sampdoria in Naples.

Selection: £5 on Napoli to win and both teams to score at 7/5 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

Manchester City are again setting the standard in terms of performance so far this season with Kevin De Bruyne back to his mesmerising best and Sergio Aguero scoring six goals in just four games. However, we just cannot ignore the 33/1 on offer with bet365 about Saturday's clash with Norwich ending 0-0. The Canaries are no mugs and it's not beyond the realms of fantasy that they could keep Pep Guardiola's men at bay at Carrow Road.

Selection: £1 on Norwich v Manchester City to draw 0-0 at 33/1 with bet365.
